Practice Director, Product Security

Position Overview: Reporting to the VP of Services, you will be responsible for managing our application and software security services team. The team provides proactive security assessment and advisory services to the Fortune 500 and venture-backed start-ups with a focus on web, mobile, iot, and cloud technologies. We need a well rounded individual who not only has a deep technical background in application and software security, but who also has a deep commitment to their team's career development, a fanatical obsession with customer success, and a relentless restlessness to strategically position and improve the product security practice's core service offerings.

Core responsibilities:
  • Drive performance and manage by objectives and key results
  • Manage a services team of 9 to 10 direct reports
  • Maniacal focus on client satisfaction during service delivery
  • Oversee team's engagement schedule and resource utilization
  • Enhance, improve, and streamline product security service line offerings
  • Grow, develop, and retain direct reports
  • Assist sales in identifying and closing new business opportunities

Accountable for:
  • Quarterly customer net promoter score objectives and key results
  • Quarterly team utilization and gross margin objectives and key results
  • Quarterly practice improvement objectives and key results
  • Quarterly team career development objectives and key results
  • Quarterly team retention objectives and key results

Required qualifications:
  • 7+ years of industry experience with a deep understanding of the application security space
  • Experience with common development practices such as waterfall, agile, and scrum
  • Experience with software maturity models such as OpenSAMM, BSIMM, and SDL
  • Experience with security activities such as threat modeling, secure review, pen testing, and devsecops
  • Experience with software composition, static, and dynamic analysis techniques
  • Prior experience in an outward and customer facing role
  • Prior experience in people and project management
  • Prior experience managing a technical team

Desired qualifications:
  • Prior software development experience
  • Prior cyber security consulting experience
  • Prior experience working alongside product teams
  • Bachelors or masters in computer science, engineering, math, or physics
