Plan, organize, implement, manage and evaluate agency food pantry services. Manage the Food Pantry operations, budget, policies and procedures in coordination with the Program Director. Coordinate maintenance, repair and supply purchasing for the pantry facility and vehicles.
Major Responsibilities
- Perform necessary tasks and provide overall supervision to ensure safe and efficient daily operations of the food pantry, including the facility, personnel, van, food and equipment
- Maintain relationships with the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) in the areas of food orders, delivery and retail partnerships
- Follow all guidelines outlined in the NTFB manual, including compliance matters such as temperature logs, food storage, receiving products and distribution
- Order food weekly through NTFB order management system
- Understand departmental budget and keep expenditures within the budgetary limits
- Ensure goods and services are distributed equitably and without discrimination to all clients
- Maintain a clean, clutter free environment that is welcoming to clients
- Work with volunteer coordinator regarding the recruitment of volunteers
- Supervise and give direction to regular and corporate volunteers, church groups and other community volunteers
- Work collaboratively with other organizations, corporations and churches to secure appropriate food sources
- Complete weekly retail reports and in-kind donations records
- Prepare food pantry for site visits/tours and participate if requested
- Attend agency program and training meetings
- Work collaboratively with Program Director to evaluate the program, processes, distribution and operations; make corrective actions as needed
Qualifications/Skills
- College degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous food pantry/food distribution experience preferred
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Basic computer skills
- Proven leadership and customer service skills
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and good driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; position requires frequent standing, lifting, loading and moving of food containers and other large or heavy items
This position reports to the Program Director. It is a part-time position of roughly 22-26 hours per week, weekdays with occasional weekend or evening hours.
