Backend Engineer

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to join our development team. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience working with Java, and will be excited to architect Papaya's backend systems to support our next generation products and initiatives.

What you would be doing: 
  • Build RESTful APIs and optimize systems
  • Develop backend applications and components, and integrations with third party systems
  • Bring an architectural perspective, you can lead the design of medium to large projects with feedback from other engineers
  • Architecture, coding, unit testing, bug fixing and assistance in the deployment to production as well as anything else that may pop up

We'd like to hear from you if you:
• Have 4+ years of Java experience
• Have knowledge of REST, Spring, Gradle/Maven
• Are open to working with PHP
• Have some proficiency in SQL and NoSQL (MongoDB)
• Git for version control
• AWS Cloud Services knowledge a plus
