Plastiq is seeking an experienced payments professional to lead our growing Financial Operations team. As the manager of this multidisciplinary team, you and your team will focus on payments and finance while making a direct contribution to Plastiq’s day-to-day operational success. Plastiq moves millions of dollars hourly, requiring a sophisticated set of solutions to manage and monitor that money movement.
About the Role
In this role, you will lead a team that manages fund flows and monitors irregularities in the payment pipeline through Plastiq’s systems. You will assist the business with critical decision making as you build analytical models to monitor dynamic cash inflow and outflow from Plastiq accounts. As an expert collaborator and provider of top-notch customer service, you’ll help manage relationships and data-sharing with banking partners and processors. You’ll work closely with Plastiq’s internal customer service team and sales team on payment triage escalations, researching and reporting on payment success/ failure rates and SLA success rates.
You have 7-10 years experience in financial analytics and management roles (e.g. payments, capital markets, financial risk management, credit instruments, loan servicing). You are a natural investigator and have experience following the money. You are adept at prioritization and can manage a host of time-sensitive tasks. You are rigorous with a keen eye for irregularities and pattern. You have experience working with relational databases (e.q. SQL, Python). You are execution-oriented and are at your best under multiple deadlines, thriving in a fast-paced environment where things change often. You enjoy collaborating with others and you’re excited to learn and grow from your experiences and colleagues. You are extremely effective at building strong teams and managing talented people. You have an excellent sense of humor.
