Sales Development Representative

Role At A Glance

The SDR will be responsible for identifying and capturing the attention of small business owners across the US and Canada, and helping them understand the value Plastiq brings. This role is focused on top of the funnel generation through a high level of phone and email prospecting. In this role, you will also learn what it takes to be a successful AE by working closely with a dedicated team who will help you advance your career.

To be successful in this role, you’ll be the type of person who has never met a stranger, which is essential as you will execute hundreds of cold calls and cold emails each week. As a part of a fast-growing financial technology company, your role requires frequent iteration and adaptation of your approach, and an unrelenting positive spirit as you do so. 

About You

  • 1-3 years of post-graduate work experience
  • 1 year of quota-crushing experience in an SDR role at a SaaS or Finance company
  • Strong prospecting background- you’re not afraid to pick up the phone
  • You place the needs and wishes of the client above your own desires and quotas
  • You thrive in a constantly changing environment. You can start your own initiatives, and quickly shift focus when met with new data
  • You thrive in a constantly changing environment and are not afraid to experiment with new approaches
  • Strong experience with Salesforce and email automation tools (Outreach, SalesLoft, etc)
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required

Your Responsibilities

  • Serve as a member of the new business sales team to onboard new clients
  • Identify SMB opportunities within target verticals, leading outreach to cold prospects in order to build top of funnel for our account executive team
  • Become a product expert, able to walk business owners through all of Plastiq’s offerings and show them how it will simplify their business payments
  • Track and report on success metrics, including pipeline generation and conversion rates
  • Provide suggestions and insight for the creation and development of marketing materials, including physical and digital collateral, and web presentations/product demonstrations

Other Details

  • Base salary + uncapped commission with high earning potential
  • No travel required; all efforts executed from Plastiq’s San Francisco office
