Clinical Informatics Operations Manager

PicnicHealth is a San Francisco, California-based, venture capital-funded healthcare and technology company.  Our mission is to structure the world’s medical data to make it useful.  We work directly with patients to collect, digitize, and manage their complete medical records, empowering them with control over their care through a personal health timeline.  Through this work we’re building the data sets that power some of today’s most cutting edge medical research.  We’re on track for rapid growth in the next year, coming off of our recent Grand Prize finish in Google Cloud’s Machine Learning Startup Competition.

The Role
Our VP of Operations recently joins us from Uber, and she's focused on hiring the best team. We’re looking for a Clinical Informatics Operations Manager who can combine clinical expertise with lean operations management. The ideal candidate has relevant clinical experience, but also a passion for building scalable operations and process.

Responsibilities:
  • Be the clinical expert on the operations teams
  • Bridge the clinical informatics and operations sides of PicnicHealth's business
  • Triage and respond to  escalations from abstraction team 
    • Develop system to reduce escalations over time
  • Help ensure data quality is high (from accuracy to consistency to completeness)
  • Work with Head of Clinical Informatics to ensure we can execute on data product needs
  • Work with product teams to develop "how" we execute on new data types or projects
  • Work with product teams to improve tools and systems through quantifiable feedback
  • Work with CEO, CTO and VP of Operations to set goals, develop plans and execute quickly
  • Define, develop and execute various projects that tackle operational problems
  • Continuously improve clinical informatics operations by leveraging data and insights
  • Develop creative solutions to problems that won’t have immediate technology solutions

Requirements:
  • Medical degree (MD, ND, DO, RN, etc)
  • Clinical experience and interaction with medical records across a variety of EMR systems 
  • Operations, project management and process development experience required
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills - able to prioritize multiple large-scale projects with competing deadlines
  • Strong computer skills and comfortable with technology
  • Handle ambiguity well

Preferred
  • Clinical informatics experience
  • Familiarity with common healthcare ontologies, including SNOMED-CT, LOINC, RxNorm, etc
