AutoPlanet Durham is currently seeking a Used Car Sales Manager to join their new dynamic team.
The Sales Manager will be responsible for assisting the General Manager in running an efficient and profitable sales department. They will operate the department at maximum production, controlling costs, building a loyal clientele, maintaining good employee relationships, maintaining service records, and setting and obtaining sales, financial, and safety objectives.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist the General Manager in the planning and forecasting of goals and objectives for the department and strive to meet them, as well as the development and implementation of new and existing policies and procedures.
- Conduct monthly meetings with department employees to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest.
- Reach sales goals on strict timeline requirements.
- Work in strict compliance with the requirements and regulations of the Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (OMVIC).
- Monitor sales trends, such as number of customers visiting company, number of quotes prepared per salesperson, units sold per salesperson, dollar sales per Salesperson, etc.
- Maintain reporting systems required by President and the organization.
- Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all Sales Department staff.
- Regularly evaluate employee performance and provide periodic feedback.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business.
- Directs and schedules the activities of all Used Car Sales employees, ensuring proper staffing at all times and as efficiently as possible in accordance with company policy.
- Assist with preparing a list of equipment, supplies and repairs required, and review with the General Sales Manager as needed.
- Work in strict compliance with the Laws of the Province of Ontario and Canada including, but not limited to, the Employment Standards Act (ESA) and the Accessibilities for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA).
- Uphold all rules and procedures - support enforcement, including disciplinary action as necessary.
- Understand and comply with all federal, provincial and local regulations that affect service operations, such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), waste disposal regulations, etc.
- Other duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Post Secondary Degree/Diploma in Business Administration
- Experience in the retail sales of motor vehicles.
- A minimum of 3-5 years sales management experience.
- OMVIC Certification, required.
- Dealer CRM system experience required.
- Experience in the retail sales of motor vehicles.
- Flexibility to adapt to constantly changing business.
- High motivation, energy and ability to perform with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong computer skills; proficient knowledge of microsoft excel.
- Must have strong time management skills, ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
- Great team player and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think quickly and multitask.
- Comfort with computers and external communication.
- Willingness to create and work within a fun atmosphere.
- Comfort with highly variable, performance-oriented pay plan.
