  • Job Description

    Responsible for inputting all reservations from multiple channels into the hotels Property Management System in a timely manner. Responsible for assisting guests and group contacts in the fulfilling of their needs and requests with an efficient, courteous and professional level of service. Assists General Manager in the maximizing of room revenues and occupancies for the Penguin & President Hotels.

    Job Specific

    • Communicates effectively with General Manager to ensure all revenue management strategies are being implemented
    • Conducts competitive analysis on a twice a week basis.
    • Ensures rate parity on all channels at all times.
    • Manages all reservations to ensure accuracy and inventory
    • Manages allotted room blocks organizing reservations and rates accordingly
    • Reviews and manages group cutoff dates by communicating with the appropriate travel agents and tour operators accordingly
    • Reviews group resumes and is aware of and deals with special needs and VIP’s
    • Communicates regularly with GDS Systems to review accuracy/changes

    Learns and maintains thorough and accurate knowledge of Penguin & President room types and locations

    • Reviews daily arrival listings to ensure accuracy
    • Corresponds with groups and travel agents to respond to special requests for rooms and rates
    • Attends New Business and Yield Meetings periodically with the GM
    • Reviews trends/pickup with the GM and opens/closes availability as needed
    • Tracks regrets/denials of reservations calls and monitors agents on call quality and salesmanship on an on-going basis
    • Schedules personnel to accommodate arrivals of groups
    • Attends all required hotel meetings to keep abreast of in-house activities/promotions and upcoming events
    • Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times
    • Evaluates changes in guest needs, the hotels guest mix and industry competitive set, to recommend appropriate product/service and operational changes necessary to ensure guest and employee satisfaction, while maintaining market dominance and exceptional financial performance
    • Other duties as assigned
