This role requires a candidate who isn’t afraid of calling on clients and architects to find out information about a project or to build a new client relationship. This candidate also needs to be computer savvy, data-oriented, exceptionally detailed, familiar with the construction industry, and self-motivated.
In this role, you will work alongside our experienced sales, estimating, and operations teams to learn the craft of commercial fencing sales. You will participate in the final estimating process and prepare proposals, manage project data in Salesforce, and keep up to date with material prices and labor performance. It’s a fast-paced role with endless opportunities to build new business, new skills, provide much-needed support to our commercial team, and grow your own career path on our commercial sales team.
Position Overview
The Commercial Admin is responsible for managing the administrative process of commercial projects from start to finish. The Commercial Admin ensures the successful and seamless completion of this process and provides support to the Sales and Estimating team, while also acting as a point of contact for potential customers and generating leads. This position is primarily focused on the following objectives:
- Identifying prospective projects
- Preparing and submitting documents necessary to the estimating and bidding process
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with customers
- Maintain Salesforce database, company bid list, and project follow up
The Commercial Admin is responsible for supporting all members of the commercial sales and estimating team and embraces a culture committed to delivering the Peerless Promise: Quality, Service, & Integrity.
Role and Responsibilities
- Reviewing and providing details of plans and specifications to estimators
- Generate material lists and contact selected suppliers for material quotes as directed by salesmen
- Prepare and follow up on submittals to approval
- Build and maintain a submittal library for reference for use on future projects
- Entering prospective projects, bid lists, and marketing opportunities in CRM, as well as tracking follow ups and updating status when necessary
- Keeping track of metrics for the sales team, such as sales goals, dollars bid, jobs won/lost, and close rates
- Completing qualification forms, general bid documents, and bid or performance bonds
- Entering all orders in conjunction with the assigned project manage
- Ensure all documents and billing information have been completed on behalf of the company, and follow up accordingly until the project has been paid in full
- Develop and maintain material prices for commonly used items
- Cultivate strong relationships with general contractors and direct customers
- Manage phone and internet leads and identify opportunities for salesmen to bid

Preferred Skills and Experience
- Administrative, sales, or construction experience a plus
- Associates degree or higher preferred
- Degree in Construction Management
- Experience with Salesforce CRM a plus
