    Job Description |   The Network Security Engineer’s purpose is to support the Client by managing and maintaining the network infrastructure, the storage infrastructure, the server infrastructure, and the security of the network, storage and server infrastructures.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1.     Complies with and stays abreast of all policies and procedures, federal and state laws applicable to the job. 2.     Design, implement, configure, manage and maintain firewalls, proxy servers, security gateways and other network security infrastructure devices. 3.     Design, implement, configure, manage and maintain routers, switches and other network communication infrastructure devices. 4.     Design, implement, configure, manage and maintain the physical server infrastructure. 5.     Design, implement, configure, manage and maintain the virtual server infrastructure. 6.     Design, implement, configure, manage and maintain the storage infrastructure. 7.     Design, implement, configure, manage and maintain an enterprise monitoring solution for the network infrastructure. 8.     Design, implement, configure, manage and maintain an enterprise monitoring solution for the storage infrastructure. 9.     Design, implement, configure, manage and maintain an enterprise monitoring solution for the server infrastructure. 10.   Design, implement, configure, manage and maintain an enterprise monitoring solution for business critical websites, applications and processes. 11.   Design, implement, configure, manage, troubleshoot and/or maintain critical business applications. 12.   Provide, present and promote The Client's experience to all external and internal customers. 13.   Other duties, responsibilities, tasks and projects as assigned.  Responsible Level Guide for the Network Security Engineer  Level 3 Has a minimum three years of experience.  Design, implement, configure, manage, troubleshoot and/or maintain critical solutions.  Resolve complex and enterprise technical problems.  Requires minimal guidance and has significant contact with vendor technical support.  Write and/or maintain solution and procedure documentation.  Generate and/or review compliance documentation for certification and/or auditors.  Direct accountability for the audit evidence related to assigned duties and responsibilities.  Identify system, network and solutions risks, propose recommendations, and implement remediation if approved.  Provide recommendations for new technology that may involve proof of concept implementations. Perform Project Management tasks and ensure certification and audit documentation is generated, processed and organized in an acceptable timeframe.  Maintain solution, procedure and Disaster Recovery documentation.  Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; applicable training and certifications; at least ten years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience.  Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, a qualifying individual should have extensive knowledge of various hardware and software specialty solutions from industry leaders, including Cisco, Microsoft, VMware, EMC, Compellent, Symantec and Citrix.  A qualifying individual should also have extensive knowledge of various Operating Systems, computer communications, network protocols, enterprise security devices, network security solutions, and compliance and regulatory evidence requirements.
