This role
As a Business Development Manager, Device Compatibility you will play a key role in helping us achieve our mission by increasing the number of mobile phone brands (OEMs) that are compatible with PayJoy’s patented technology. You will also manage existing OEM relationships towards expanding their PayJoy-compatible device portfolio.  


Responsibilities:
  • Leverage your business development, negotiating and relationship management expertise with existing and new partners to increase the number of brands and devices that are compatible with PayJoy’s technology. 
  • Work closely with PayJoy’s OEM Director and team, as well as collaborating with PayJoy’s wider organization, including engineering, on all efforts related to PayJoy’s OEM expansion.  
  • Support PayJoy’s GMs and management staff in pre-sales with operators, financial institutions and OEMs as well as internal reporting.

Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of business development/relationship management experience in Enterprise sales at an OEM, or with OEM-facing responsibilities at a chip manufacturer, SaaS tech company, financial institution, fintech startup, or mobile network operator. 
  • A proven ability to manage sales cycles from start to finish, including opportunity mapping, prospecting, leveraging both existing relationships and relationship-building skills (cold calling) to establish the right level access to decision makers, pitching, pre-sales, qualifying, organization mapping and closing deals. 
  • Excellent presentation and speaking skills, including powerpoint. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
  • Experience with RFI/RFP processes and building business cases to effectively influence prospect prioritization. 
  • Self-orientation, drive, and ability to communicate clearly and persuasively to business partners, customers, and different members of our global team and San Francisco Headquarters. 
  • Bachelor’s degree from a top university (International or local) in industrial engineering, business, economics or finance, or a related field. 
  • Strong alignment with PayJoy’s mission and a passion for helping underserved communities.

Desirable Qualifications
  • Fluency in Madarin.
  • Ability to read/write simplified Chinese.  
  • Familiarity with Mobile Device Management platforms.
  • Experience with CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce, Zoho).
  • Experience in both Fortune 500 and Fintech startup environments.
