Our client is building Nutanix Customer Success Group (CSG) focused on cloud software and hyper-converged infrastructure solutions seeking an experienced Solutions Architect who will be part of the new group reporting to CTO at Corporate headquarters in Herndon, Virginia.
This role combines systems architecture and troubleshooting skills, performance engineering, experimental methods, and the opportunity to work with emerging technology across the IT spectrum.
As part of the Solutions and Performance team within the Engineering organization you will primarily be responsible for resolving the most difficult technical issues on key commercial software solutions leveraging the Nutanix Virtual Computing Platform. This includes, but is not limited to, Cloud Orchestration Software VDI Solutions, Big Data and key enterprise software solutions such as SQL, Oracle, mySQL, Exchange, and SharePoint.
Responsibilities:
- Active Top Secret.
- Work with Pre-Sales and Post-Sales engineers as well as technology partners to drive the resolution of difficult technical issues escalated to the Solutions and Performance engineering team
- Run and optimize popular benchmarks and load tests on these software products
- Install, configure, and validate key commercial software products on lab equipment
- Debug performance issues and suggest code/design improvements to the core datapath engineering team
- Provide analysis of our existing customer base to avoid and minimize risks in the field
- Work cross-functionally to incorporate quality and serviceability in design
- Develop guidelines for a solution and performance troubleshooting
- Create performance best practices for use in the field
Requirements:
Strong problem-solving skills - Experienced with VMware, Hyper-V, KVM, or Xen. VMware
- Breadth of technology skills in Linux/Windows Systems ∙ Administration, TCP/IP Networking, and Storage
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- The passion & ability to learn new things, while never being satisfied with the status quo.
- Willingness to work in a fast growing company with huge potential Nice to have:
- Experience working with product engineering
- Ability to navigate large source code base to understand behavior
- Familiarity with using Linux/Windows performance troubleshooting tools
- Understanding of software, storage, file system performance characteristics
Preferred Education and Experience:
- BA/BS degree in a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 – 7 years of work experience
- 2 or more years of experience working in product management roles in professional services.
