Senior Manager, Global Business Development

We're looking for top talent to join our Business Development team. If you are competitive, motivated, experienced in structuring partnerships, OEM, licensing, etc., and want to be part of a team that empowers customers, then this could be the job for you! This is a senior-level business development role that includes a sales component, as well. The ideal candidate will have sales experience and a solid understanding of common sales practices and processes. There is potential for advancement to candidates who can contribute to and achieve business objectives. This position will report to the CEO.  

Key Responsibilities
  • Be a strategic partner to C-level and senior executives and focus purely on establishing new business relationships (sales, partnership, licensing, distribution, OEM, etc.) with non-client organizations that can be converted into key accounts 
  • Identify, qualify and sign up new distributors globally 
  • Own the full sales cycle from lead generation to prospecting through close 
  • Strategic selling of Paragon NGS target enrichment products to large pathology /commercial lab accounts that need targeted sequencing technologies 
  • Lead and close complex business development processes using Paragon’s value selling proposition 
  • Collaborate with internal resources and external network to prioritize and penetrate critical accounts; quickly build relationships with key stakeholders to drive net new business 
  • Timely and accurate revenue forecasting 
  • Compliance in utilizing internal sales enablement tools and processes 
  • Utilize account planning and time management tools to drive an increase of revenue to an assigned quota 

Qualifications and Background
  • Preferably 5 + years of proven consultative sales experience in a business development capacity 
  • Consistent track record of overachievement of annual sales quota 
  • Must be able to prospect and manage C-level and senior-level relationships within large academic, pathology lab and commercial NGS lab organizations 
  • Strong demonstration of intellect, drive, excellent executive presence, and sales acumen 
  • Ability to develop and conduct effective presentations with contract decision makers (C-Level) 
  • Proven experience building excellent client relationships, offering a value-added, insightful and strategic vision into their business 
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills 
  • Knowledge of the full life cycle of the sales process from prospecting to close 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher degree in biology/chemistry or other related fields is highly preferred, with strong evidence of academic success 
  • Ability to travel up to 50% globally
