We at Overclock Labs are a team of engineers, researchers, and economists and want to invite you to join our efforts to keep the future of computing infrastructure accessible, open, and sovereign.
We're the team building
Akash, an open computing network for massively distributed applications with a permission-free marketplace to unlock friction-less scalability that extends beyond the current cloud offering.
Akash allows organizations with excess computing capacity to safely and sustainably auction their capacity in an open marketplace so users can enjoy market-driven pricing for running computing jobs -- usually at a fraction of the cost, they would otherwise have pay to the cloud infrastructure providers.
Akash is fully open-source with an open-state that ensures permission-less participation. The state resides in a publicly operated distributed ledger with a leader-less, peer-to-peer consensus model at its core.
The founding team comprises of notable open-source developers
Adam Bozanich, and
Greg Osuri and challenges we solve brings together economics and computer science in exciting ways, such as:
- Incentive model that accelerates early adoption with linear scalability to achieve optimal conditions for a self-sustainable decentralized economy.
- A distributed container registry that ensures sovereignty while providing access flexibility.
- A reputation based decentralized trust system that extends as a web of trust.
- A peer-to-peer fault-tolerant deployment system for latency-sensitive workloads deployed across the globe.
As a fully-distributed team, we're incredibly flexible with your commitment; could be as simple as picking up an open issue on our
GitHub to working full-time on Akash.
An ideal candidate would be someone with notable experience building applications using Go lang and Kubernetes and passionate about open-source and economics.
