Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, strategic direction, engineering and escalation support for Enterprise WAN, LAN, WLAN, bandwidth management and load balancer platforms across North America locations.
- Develop and participate in the creation of technology roadmaps based on industry trends and best practices.
- Ensure operational efficiency in developed solutions by delivering high quality, easy to use solutions.
- Interface with North American business users and develop standards-based solutions to meet business demands for WAN, LAN, WLAN, bandwidth management and load balancers platforms while managing total cost of ownership.
- Manage network providers and carriers on order process and circuit delivery to meet business needs in a timely manner.
- Manage suppliers and contracted staff of network engineers to design, develop and deploy network solutions.
Requirements:
- 8 to 10 years of professional experience.
- Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
- Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
- Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE)
- Tunnel and Internet Protocol Security (IPSEC)
- Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) with the ability to design and troubleshoot complex enterprise network infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of Internet Protocol (IP) addressing and Variable Length Subnet Mask (VLSM).
- Extensive experience with Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies.
- Deep understanding of Local Area Network (LAN) switching technologies including
- VXLAN
- ACI
- fabric path
- Spanning Tree
- Virtual LAN (VLAN)
- VLAN Trunking Protocol (VTP) concepts.
- Good understanding of wireless technologies as applied to WAN connectivity including Very-small-aperture terminal (VSAT) and cellular networks.
- High-level teaming and communication skills to influence and persuade others.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create and present concepts and recommendations to management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher certification
- Proficient with scripting technologies, including but not limited to Python, Bash, Perl, and JavaScript.
- Extensive experience with F5 Local Traffic Managers (LTM) and Global Traffic Managers (GTM) in Active/Active and Active/Standby scenarios.
- Good understanding of F5 Advanced Firewall Manager (AFM) and Application Security Manager (ASM) modules.
- Deep understanding of Network Address Translation (NAT), Secure NAT (SNAT) and development of iRules
- Experience with Secure Socket Layer (SSL)-Offloading with LTMs
- Good understanding of Internet Proxy technologies with Blue Coat products.
- Good understanding of Juniper Remote Access products with 2-factor authentication systems.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participate in OrangePeople monthly team meetings, and participate in team building efforts.
- Contribute to OrangePeople technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
- Contribute content and collaborate via the OP-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
- Provide status reports to OP Account Management as requested
