OpenSpace is a rapidly growing machine vision and AI company started by three veteran tech founders and engineers with multiple successful exits under their belt. 

OpenSpace has built a seamless tool that allows anyone - especially construction companies, large and small - to capture Google Streetview style visual records of any space, indoor or out, with no effort. 

Our customers' projects already span the globe, and we are collecting massive amounts of data - 100 million square feet and growing. 

Customers include WeWork, Tishman Speyer, Equity Residential, JLL, Turner Construction, Suffolk Construction, AECOM and many more.

Jeevan Kalanithi, the CEO, sold his first company, Sifteo, to 3D Robotics, where he became the President. 3D Robotics, a 200+ person company, launched a drone which made $45M in its first year. Philip DeCamp, the CTO, was most recently a machine vision Research Scientist at MIT, where he completed his PhD (and Masters, and BS). Michael Fleischman, Chief Scientist, started a company, Bluefin Labs, which specialized in analysis of massive amounts of video; Bluefin became one of Twitter's largest acquisitions. Michael’s PhD is also in machine vision from MIT. The founders’ work has been featured at TED, The New York Times, MoMA and beyond.

OpenSpace is backed by investors such as Lux Capital, Foundation Capital, and a number of strategic investors.

The Role

OpenSpace seeks a hands-on Marketing Lead to define and execute demand-gen and market-awareness strategies that meet and exceed OpenSpace's phenomenal sales growth over the past 3 quarters.

This role offers a rare opportunity for any B2B marketer. Your challenge is threefold: 

  1. To define and deploy a successful demand generation strategy in the construction market. 
  2. To position OpenSpace as a differentiated, category-defining solution from the point of view of our customer.
  3. As you succeed in demand generation and positioning OpenSpace in the market, to hire and manage a team to expand upon your successes.

So yes: we’re looking for an experienced person with a blend of creative and analytical skills. This person will both develop and execute the strategy and tactics for generating qualified leads, driving brand awareness, and supporting the achievement of sales revenue goals. We expect you to be hands-on, but we will support you with internal and external teams to support marketing programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build revenue-producing marketing programs in multiple channels, including SEM, email marketing, display and social media advertising, tradeshows, content marketing and affiliate marketing.
  • Plan and execute co-marketing campaigns with our integration partners to drive qualified leads and alignment with the major construction software providers.
  • Develop marketing partnerships to drive growth
  • Work with and manage our outsource marketing consulting teams (including, for example, a digital advertising firm) 
  • Work closely with OpenSpace customers to create compelling success stories.
  • Develop brand messaging that positions OpenSpace as a new category of reality capture and visual documentation solutions.
  • Develop marketing and brand assets to support sales and revenue targets.
  • Conduct testing and optimization efforts to increase efficacy of campaigns.
  • Represent the company at tradeshows, webinars and more. 
  • Own and manage overall marketing budgets.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years’ experience in marketing, preferably with SaaS products.
  • Major bonus points for: 5+ years’ experience in construction, development, or construction technology
  • Proven expertise in effective, predictable lead generation for inside sales teams.
  • Proficiency with SEM, email marketing, SEO, display and social media advertising, and affiliate marketing.
  • Experience with content marketing strategy and best practices, ideally for downloadable guides and other resources, webinars, infographics, and web tools.
  • Strong data evaluation skills with the ability to extract and interpret data from various sources to drive creative marketing solutions.
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com and marketing automation systems.
  • Ability to develop a strategic marketing plan and manage a budget.
  • Strong communication skills, including copywriting, presentation skills, and negotiation.
  • Ability to effectively interact and collaborate with all levels of management, sales teams, contractors, and other employees.
