Java Developer (Streaming)

Position: Java Developer (Streaming)
Location: Oldsmar, FL
Duration: 6 Months

Must have:
Java, Experience with MPEG-DASH or MPEG 4

Day to Day Responsibilities:
  • Working on the Audience Measurement team that specifically focusses on capturing data online streaming. This team developed a new system last year that connects to client sites (clients such as CBS, NBC, etc….) and puts their data in to servers to be evaluated. So far the standard streaming that clients have all used has been HTTP live, so that is what they wrote the system for. They now need to create a new module that will work for other clients who are using MPEG- DASH instead of HTTP.
  • System is written in Java and Javascript. This person will be the sole person on the team to be making this module, but they will have support from the other team members as far as helping to train and knowledge transfer on what they currently have done on the system, and teach anything he/she will need to know in order to get this done.

Must have:
  • Java
  • JavaScript
  • Video over internet streaming (MPEG-DASH is preferred, but others such as HTTP or MPEG 4 are fine too)

Nice to have:
  • Linux/Unix
  • Spark Engine
  • Katka messaging
  • Elastic Search
