VP of Legal & Compliance (Healthcare)

What We're Looking For:
We're seeking a talented VP, Healthcare Legal and Compliance who will be responsible for providing legal guidance and counsel on a broad range of matters, including contracts, compliance and day-to-day business needs. VP Healthcare Legal, Compliance will provide insight on all aspects of OMNY's operations and ensure that the company operates within the law at all times.

In This Role, You Will:
  • Provide legal advice on complex and sensitive matters regarding various laws applicable to healthcare, and on issues concerning the rights, obligations, risks and privileges of OMNY
  • Draft, negotiate and manage corporate contracts
  • Serve as the designated Privacy Officer for OMNY
  • Direct, coordinate and manage all outside counsel for specialized legal issues
  • Assist the senior leadership team with review and monitoring of operations to ensure compliance with established organization policies and legal requirements (HIPAA, etc).
  • Proactively identify operational risks and develop best practices for addressing
  • Prepare and present executive summary reports regarding pending legal matters and risks
  • Protect OMNY's rights in contract negotiations, settlements and litigation
  • Participate in staff training regarding compliance matters, where appropriate

What The Role Requires:
  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
  • Membership, in good standing, with California Bar
  • 5+ years' experience as a practicing attorney in healthcare
  • Deep understanding and expertise on HIPAA, Stark Law, medical malpractice and other medical compliance and privacy laws
  • Experience working with and managing contracts
  • Demonstrated success advising on healthcare laws and regulations
  • Ability to run legal projects with little supervision
  • High degree of professional ethics
  • First class interpersonal and communication skills
  • Outstanding analytic abilities
  • Clear and concise written and oral communication
  • Well-honed negotiation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal rapport with the ability to distill legal issues to common terms
  • Unwavering attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
