The Opportunity:

Your mission is to be a driving force behind capturing market share for Octopart in the Data Services (API) offering across the electronic components ecosystem. 

You will accomplish this by building relationships with our partners while leveraging direct sales strategies to create awareness of Octopart’s API. You will establish a clearly defined sales strategy for engaging prospective partners, earning their business, and supporting their implementation of our API.

You will act as the voice of the customer, communicating your insights and feedback from our partners to help improve our product offering. You’ll collaborate closely with sales, marketing, engineering, product and design to turn these insights into features that benefit our growing API user base.  


You will:

  • Drive adoption and support the integration of the Octopart API within new accounts and existing partners
  • Illustrate deep product knowledge of the Octopart API, our unique value proposition, and our competitive landscape. 
  • Identify and prioritize the top prospective accounts. You will proactively engage prospective partners by setting and executing a clear sales strategy as well as maintain ongoing engagement with current customer portfolio.
  • Support the ongoing improvement of the Octopart API by establishing a communication loop and feedback cycle to share customer engagement findings with product, engineering, sales, and executives.


About You:

  • You are a persistent and enthusiastic professional who demonstrates tenacity in the face of difficult circumstances and brings passion, excitement, and a can-do attitude everyday.
  • You are an excellent verbal and written communicator who learns quickly and demonstrates the ability to understand and absorb new information.
  • You are comfortable with change and ambiguity.  You have a proven ability to drive results and effectively problem solve when faced with uncertainty and adversity.
  • You have at least 5+ years of experience in a quota carrying sales role, preferably selling a technical or data related product. Specific experience working with open architecture API platforms and associated products is a big plus. 
  • BA/BS degree or higher level of education is required.
