Principal Sales Engineer

Our client is changing the way the world builds software. Partnering with sales teams, you will provide cutting edge prototypes and proof concepts that will challenge your technical expertise as you propose solutions to complex customer challenges using Company technology.  

Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Own the design and development of software prototypes for potential customers and partners
  • Lead “Proof of Concept” engagements at customer sites to investigate the viability of implementing company’s solutions within a prospective customer’s existing technical environment (typically onsite)
  • Present technical and business aspects of proposed solutions to prospective clients in conjunction with the sales team
  • Drive technical thought leadership and best practices for demo builds and solution positioning across the entire sales team
  • Develop innovative new uses for company technology and feed these back into the product

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, preferably in computer science
  • 8+ years of experience in analysis, design, development and application deployment of enterprise application systems
  • Proficiency in JAVA, J2EE and / or .NET technologies, along with HTML, CSS & JavaScript
  • Experience in database design, SQL, XML, integration (e.g. JMS, web services)
  • Ability to understand complex data relationships and rules-based systems
  • Ability to explain and evangelize technical concepts and designs to customer teams

Extra skills: 

  • Enjoy solving programs and have a background in building and enhancing complex business applications.
  • Highly skilled in object-oriented programming, and although you might not have experience working as part of a sales team, you have more to offer beyond writing code.
  • You have a demonstrated drive for results and thrive as part of a collaborative team.
