The successful candidate will be responsible for providing overall management, administration and support of Our Client IT Operation Support Systems. As an application system administrator, you will use your advanced knowledge of networking as well as Unix and Linux operating systems to analyze, design and implement monitoring solutions and automations for all aspects of application management.
Collaborate with IT staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
Work with Application Architect to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues.
Design and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems.
Responsible for application monitoring, alert and notifications processes to ensure application issues are properly monitored and escalated to proper personnel for resolution.
Understanding of concepts and components of managed support architectures.
Play a key role in a team-based, enterprise-class managed support service delivery to clients
Investigate and troubleshoot issues and develop solutions for customers while gaining an understanding of their business needs.
B.Eng/B.S. degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
Minimum 5+ years in UNIX systems administration in a large environment, including networking.
Experience implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting the Unix/Linux operating system, Internet-based applications, and web servers
Knowledge of containerization platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
Knowledge in virtualization technologies, protocols, and orchestration
Scripting experience in actively writing/modifying code to improve monitoring and automation (Perl, Python, Shell, etc.)
Be able to learn and react quickly when facing new problems
Be able to consistently meet deadlines to handle multiple tasks and projects and switch between them quickly
Enjoy the challenge of unfamiliar tasks
Familiarity with the following: Apache, Java, Tomcat, Python, Perl, Ruby, tcp analysis tools
VMware virtual infrastructure
Familiarity with version control systems such as CVS or Subversion
Good communication skills both written and verbal
Bilingual (French and English)
