JOB SUMMARY:
The IT Software Development team builds and manages software and services critical to Blackbaud’s operation. We are trusted business partners, first-class software engineers, and digital transformation leaders supporting Blackbaud’s growth. As a Software Engineering Team Lead over IT Financial Systems, you will execute the technical design and build of their Workday Financial Management implementation and develop the go-forward strategy of our existing Financial business software and data integrations. In this entry-level management position, you will spend about half of your time performing hands-on engineering activities and the other half, leading software engineers and honing your skills through our leadership development program. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee Workday Financials implementation and build sustainment plan for the entire Financial software ecosystem.
- Work with Software Engineering Leads to define the Workday application architecture and map out the future Financial software strategy.
- Measure and monitor application effectiveness relative to business needs and recommend improvements.
- Define Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes used to manage change within our Production and lower environments.
- Provide input to managers on the performance of team members for use in their reviews and participates in the interview process of new candidates.
- Spend as much as 50% of your time performing hands-on configuration, scripting, integration, and documentation activities as a member of the Financial systems scrum team.
Supervisory responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Work with the scrum team to develop processes that help to improve and maintain high quality standards.
- Guide development effort to ensure that issues are closed, tests are written, and feature work is on-track.
- Manage performance, mentor, and coach your team members.
- Set goals and conduct regular check-ins with your team.
- Oversee offshore team (2-5 engineers).
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelors and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
- Experience with team leadership and mentoring.
- Experience leading development activities on large-scale projects from inception to successful release.
- Experience working in distributed IT ecosystem and connecting applications via data integrations built against REST/SOAP APIs.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Very strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to achieve results through influence.
- Passionate about the success of the entire team.
Preferred
- Experience with Workday, specifically Financial Management, or other ERP technology.
- Experience with C#, Java, or similar programming language.
- Experience with Middleware tools.
- Experience with MS SQL Server.
- Knowledge of agile (scrum) methodology.
