Foreman - Highways

Our specialist engineering and construction teams bring multi-sector innovation and technical skill – from building and highways, to large-scale water networks and treatment plants.

An opportunity has arisen for a Foreman to work as part of our Highways Team. The Foreman will be responsible for overseeing site activities and ensure they are managed to the highest standards in all areas of delivery. The role will also include both upward and downward reporting within Highways and the client at all times providing clear and precise direction at all levels.

What you’ll be doing day to day

  • To ensure Health & Safety are of paramount importance 
  • Delivery of task briefings and toolbox talks
  • Quality Assurance 
  • Environmental control
  • Ensuring all project KPI`s and KPM`s are achieved
  • Developing accurate project programmes 
  • Awareness of cost forecasts 
  • Ensuring compliance to the Group’s procedures
  • Cost risk management
  • Produce safe and efficient sites
  • Bring innovative ideas
  • Meet set targets
  • Inspecting and making sure works are completed in line with the required standards of quality
  • Maintain accurate daily records 

 The experience we’re looking for in a candidate

  • NRSWA Supervisors card SMSTS
  • Highways and public realm experience
  • Commercial and contractual awareness
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Self motivation
  • Be able to organise yourself and others workload
  • Be able to work in a strong team environment
  • Be proactive in your approach 
  • An excellent communicator
  • A high level of diplomacy and customer focused
