Mechanical Project Engineer

A vacancy has arisen for a Mechanical Project Engineer working in our Non-Infra Waste workstream. Working within a busy team, you will be primarily responsible for the design of Waste Water assets and the associated procurement of materials for the project delivery. 
 
What you’ll be doing day to day
  • Design of waste water M&E assets i.e. Pumping Stations, CSO`s & associated civil structures etc.
  • Equipment sizing & selection (pumps, mixers, pipework etc)
  • TMA, NRSWA coordination 
  • Early site investigation works coordination
  • Early procurement of materials
  • Attendance and input into internal and client design reviews
  • Involvement with cost to complete / budget reviews with the contract delivery teams
  • Negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Involvement with preparation of subcontract orders
  • Assistance with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation works
  • Liaison with site manager and site teams to ensure work is completed to programme, budget and quality
  • Innovations to current standards
  • Managing key project constraints
  • Preparation & management of project programmes
  • Proactive approach to maintaining high standards of Health & Safety performance
 
The experience we’re looking for in a candidate
  • An industry applicable ONC or City & Guilds / NVQ equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience of working within the water and / or sewage industries
  • Excellent knowledge of planning software
  • A positive approach to work
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • The ability to work well under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Be IT literate with good presentation skills
