A vacancy has arisen for a Contracts Manager to work for our Building Division. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all activities and staff to ensure that Health & Safety, design, procurement, financial control and site activities are managed to the highest standards. This relates to all areas of project delivery pre-construction, during construction and post construction.  One of the primary responsibilities will be to align to the client’s direction and needs, interpret contract commitments and to manage client expectations.
What you’ll be doing day to day
  • Ensure commercial challenge at all times to site teams
  • Ensure the minimum of waste results from all operations on site and that proper and effective standards of housekeeping are maintained
  • Regularly review project status ensuring all options have been considered and evaluated to improve performance
  • Coordinate with the Project Team to ensure that the design activities are visible and that all operations are aligned to support the programme
  • Promote behaviours to influence best performance

  • Regular site visits
  • Support staff development
  • Build client, consultant and supply chain relationships
  • Ensure commercial challenge at all times to site teams
  • Promote Near Miss and Positive Intervention reporting
  • Programme and procure resource 
  • Reviewing sub-contractor performance
  • Ensure audit findings are closed out
  • Contract and financial negotiations
  • Set and monitor targets - cost / time / P&G review / meetings
  • Ensuring all staged design/programmes are updated in line with requirements
  • Training and career development of employees
  • Monitoring of site Health and Safety behaviours
  • Development and implementation of business improvement plans
  • Ensuring all project KPI`s and KPM`s are achieved
  • Ensuring compliance to divisional & client procedures
  • Cost risk management and early identification of problematic projects 
  • Ownership of the entire project, design, costs, programme, documentation, site activities and procurement.
  • Bring and drive innovative ideas
  • High management level meeting attendance as required
The experience we’re looking for in a candidate
  • An industry applicable qualification
  • Commercial and contractual awareness with a proven track record of success
  • A good level of competency of Microsoft packages
  • Self-motivation, passion and a driven 'can do' attitude
  • Be able to organise yourself and others workload
  • An excellent communicator
  • Construction Experience is Essential
