Operations Associate

New Profit seeks an organized, self-motivated, resourceful, technology-savvy individual drawn to a role designed to ensure smooth operations within the office and care for the New Profit team. The Operations Associate will report to New Profit’s Operations Manager and collaborate with members of the Finance, People and Executive Assistant teams, and interact regularly with full New Profit Team.    

Boston Office Support:

  • Serve as a welcoming first point of contact and general office support to New Profit team, guests, and service contractors, both in person and through managing the main phone line, e.g., 
  • Be in the Boston office daily (M-F) from 8:30-5:30 
  • Greet and assist visitors to the office space 
  • Support meeting set-up and break-down with technology, platforms and equipment  (e.g., video conferencing), seating arrangements, and ensuring cleanliness
  • Assist in setting up conference rooms and the logistics at staff and agency-wide meetings and events
  • Troubleshoot with office equipment and technology, e.g. (printers, print jobs, wifi, etc.)       
  • A go-to support for questions and requests for office and meeting related help to ensure smooth and caring day-to-day operations for the New Profit team 
  • Create and maintain a welcoming, organized, and inspiring office space, e.g., 
    • Manage the team’s office and kitchen supplies 
    • Find ways to add warmth and creativity to our office space experience
    • Act as point person for facilities, office maintenance requests, mailing and shipping supplies
    •  Keep common areas clean and welcoming 
    • Assist with office moves as needed
Non-Boston Based Team Support:
  • Ensure staff (and contractors) not located in Boston are effectively integrated into New Profit operations, technology, and culture, e.g., 
    • Support the our virtual assistants with in office support, e.g., Boston-based technology set up or lunch orders for meetings 
    •  Help with office operations in other locations as needed (e.g., help explore a small office space in D.C.)  
    • Ensure effective video conferencing options available to the team 

Special Projects & Overall Team Support 

  • Provide special project and team-wide support to the Operations, People and Finance teams (and others across New Profit as capacity allows), e.g., 
  • Lead our Kickball Team to victory in an annual tournament
  • Organize an inclusive holiday celebration program 
  •  Design and manage a creative approach to celebrating work anniversaries and birthdays  

  •  Early career – one to three years of professional experience 
  • Excited about New Profit’s mission and social change
  • Deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Technology-inclined – experience with being a fast learner with technology platforms such as Zoom, Slack, GoToMeeting, BlueJeans, and other platforms as needed; must be proficient in GSuite and Microsoft Suite 
  • Proactive and resourceful – creative problem-solver and self-driven
  • Organized – proclivity to create to-do lists and create order in an office; able to multi-task easily and meet deadlines  
  • Loves people – relational, enjoys care-taking for others, and enjoys interacting with and helping the team daily

  • Learning oriented – always looking for ways to grow, improve, and reflect
