Associate Program Director/Clinical Leader

The Associate Program Director (APD) for Neurobehavioral Services is responsible for the development, implementation, evaluation and oversight of comprehensive individualized treatment programs for a cohort of individuals with a range of neurologic diagnoses including traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, developmental disabilities and autism. The APD supervises a team of case managers and oversees a team of service disciplines individualized by the dictates of the individualized treatment plan including physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapists, board certified behavior analysts, psychologists, certified rehabilitation counselors and other allied disciplines. 
 
A Ph.D., or PsyD., in Applied Behavior Analysis, Rehabilitation Psychology or Neuropsychology is preferred and preferred candidates will have experience with traumatic brain injury and/or mental health populations as well as systems design for the functionally based treatment of individuals with challenging behaviors. 
 
The salary range is very competitive with full fringe benefits. This position reports to the Program Director.

ON-CALL responsibilities required


Minimum Eligibility Requirements:

  • Ph.D., Psy. D degree and Florida license in psychology, a Masters in social work, applied behavior analysis, allied health disciplines, health care administration or nursing preferred
  • Extensive experience (5+ years preferred) in rehabilitation management and administration
  • Formal experience and deep passion for working with clients who have brain and/or spinal cord injuries, dementia, intellectual disabilities and/or autism
  • Demonstrated management and team building performance
  • Experience designing and implementing rehabilitation performance measurement and improvement systems
  • The qualities of patience, the desire to learn, professionalism, and a team-oriented attitude 
  • The ability to embrace coaching and detailed performance feedback
  • The ability to manage performance according to performance benchmarks
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with Clients, families, staff, externals (such as guardians, insurance adjusters), community officials, state officials, and the general public.
  • Must receive and maintain an eligible level 2 background screen, per company policy and licensing requirements
  • Must maintain an acceptable driving record with a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle safely per company standards

  • Must be available to work a flexible work schedule, as needed, including on-call responsibilities

Essential Functions, Key Competencies, and Tasks:

  • Ability to read, write, count, and speak the English language to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.  
  • Ability to apply professional and management skills to situations quickly and effectively, for crisis intervention, along with multidisciplinary treatment team, and learning from experience while applying knowledge effectively
  • Ensure your cohort is successful: 
  •      develop and oversee the effective implementation of all treatment plans
    • oversee development, review and QA all therapeutic protocols
    • ensure robust meaningful weekly client schedules
    • establish and review client levels of supervision
    • supervise Program Managers (PM) to facilitate professional and effective external staffings and internal treatment team meetings
  • Work with RS and PMs to proactively prevent and provide timely resolution to customer satisfaction concerns. 
  • Build effective, collaborative clinical and case management teams
  • Review/ensure that all monthly treatment plan summary reports are finalized and sent to business office on or before established deadline
  • Ensure that all admissions are effectively coordinated in collaboration with other departments where needed, i.e. admissions, nursing, skilled therapy etc. Review and disseminate admissions protocols
  • Analyze quality metrics to develop new and/or revised practices to improve client health and safety, support customer satisfaction and improve clinical outcomes
  • Work within the cohort teams to effectively manage client crises ensuring immediate and effective internal and external communications
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion and logging of all Critical Events/Incident Reports
  • Ensure consistent and accurate collection of all cohort outcomes data
  • Manage PM team to ensure complete and accurate client medical records
  • Ensure that all discharges are planned and effectively coordinated in collaboration with other departments, as needed
  • Conduct timely performance appraisals for all assigned direct reports
  • Track and submit monthly credit card receipts and cohort spending by established deadline, as required and when applicable
  • Other management and administrative duties, as assigned
