Job Title:  Sr Analyst, FP&A 

Reports To: VP of Finance 

Job Summary: 

 Sr Analyst, FP&A  with strong experience in financial statement analysis, budget creation and variance analysis, Accounting systems functionality and knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.  Expert level proficiency in Excel required. 

Minimum Eligibility Requirements Preferred: 

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or CPA
  • 3+ years senior level accounting or financial analyst experience
  • Expect level of proficiency in Excel
  • Budgeting and financial modeling experience
  • Experience in NetSuite, Intacct or similar accounting system
  • Accounting system transition experience a plus
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
  • Must receive and maintain eligible level II background screen

Essential Functions: 

  • Financial planning and analysis to include budget preparation and variance analysis, revenue/expense projections, financial dashboards, and complex data analysis.
  • Performs analysis on business trends (monthly, quarterly, annually) by vendor, GL, budget, and other areas.
  • Manages projects with strong attention to detail and communication.  This person will be key in managing the research, transition and implementation of a new Accounting system and a new purchasing system in 2019. 
  • Meets with department leaders to review actual spend versus budget on a monthly basis.
  • Performs complex accounting for the organization as assigned in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Develops a strong understanding of all business processes for purposes of creating an Accounting Manual and serving as backup for the various department positions.
  • Uses accounting knowledge to evaluate complex financial data, identify issues and develop solutions and suggestions which result in improvements to the accuracy and/or effectiveness of the accounting records.
  • Works well with others in the organization to troubleshoot, resolve and improve current practices and processes.
  • Independently pursues information to broaden his/her understanding and familiarity with current accounting practices and financial reporting software utilized.
