Lowe Tillson-- Jr. Account Manager


Job Overview: The Junior Account Manager is responsible for servicing a designated book of contacts by analyzing customers’ needs, evaluating options and offering tailored commercial insurance solutions. You will build and sustain strong relationships with existing customers and explore opportunities for business expansion. The primary area of business is Commercial Lines Property and Casualty.


Junior Account Manager Duties:

  • Service a designated group of customers, including analyzing the needs of the customers, evaluating and answering questions regarding coverage, and determining the most suitable product for the customer.
  • Actively manage accounts prior to renewal to identify concerns, external competition, exposure changes and additional coverage needs.
  • Prepare submissions, and negotiate pricing, policy conditions, and terms with selected carriers. Review all quotations with recommendations as to the best options for price, coverage and risk alternatives. 
 
  • Manage quotes, proposals to customers, and bind coverage with insurance carriers within agency authority
 
  • Retain technical knowledge of commercial insurance, including an understanding of commercial insurance forms and risk alternatives. 
  • Assist existing policyholders through the renewal process with strong communication and market knowledge. Educate customers on policy/product features, advantages and disadvantages. 
  • Independently develop and maintain strong knowledge of the insurance marketplace and strong working relationships with company representatives and underwriters.
 
·       Handle telephone calls and occasional personal visits to customers pertaining to their individual risks and coverage requirements, claims, new business, remarkets and additional lines of coverage.

  • For all managed accounts, ensure that all renewals and all requests for changes, endorsements, audits, etc. are properly implemented and compile with the various company requirements.
 
  • Serve as backup to Senior Account Managers when needed 
 
Job Requirements:

·       Experience: Commercial lines account manager 2+ years 
·       Education: Associates degree from a two-year college or technical school, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
·       Specialized Skills, Knowledge or Licensure:  Possess or pass the requirement to be a licensed Property & Casualty insurance producer.
o   Vertafore AMS 360 Skills preferred   
o   MS Office Expert
o   Thorough technical knowledge of commercial insurance
