Yummi Candles is growing and seeking experienced and driven retail store managers for our growing network of candle boutiques and workshops. The perfect candidates are able to inspire, collaborate, and delegate store associates with ease to reach overall company goals.
Schedule: Full-time, 7 Month Contract to Potentially Permanent Location.
Location: Upper Canada Mall- Yummi Candles' Pop-Up
Retail Managers are responsible for all aspects of the store including (but not limited to):
- Recruiting, managing, training and developing retail staff.
- Greeting customers; providing outstanding customer service whilst answering any questions.
- Operating cash registers, managing financial transactions, and balancing drawers.
- Creating replenishment orders and receiving incoming goods.
- Lead and demonstrate our candle making workshops to our customers in a positive and fun manner.
- Educate our customers about candle making, candle care and safety.
- Evaluates performance of all team member and provides consistent and timely feedback; creates and modifies action plans for the continuous development of staff.
- Resolves customer issues and meets customer needs in a timely manner through solution-oriented and forward thinking.
- Achieving store sales goals and driving sales through targeted and measured activities.
- Managing store profit and loss and net revenue at store level.
- Manages and implements sales strategies, initiatives and growth across all categories.
- Demonstrates strong business acumen; strategically forecasts, plans and budgets to the needs of the business.
- Investing and involving in all store operations; daily store maintenance and preparation, staff coverage, workshops, events, team collaborations etc.
- Working closely with Retail Operations and Human Resources for daily operations activities.
- Communicates and supervises goals or the team, track store’s performance at all times and achieves sales through team.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of retail store management experience in a retail sales setting.
- High School diploma or equivalent; college diploma/degree preferred.
- Flexibility in work schedule is required, including the ability to work extended hours, weekends, peak and holiday seasons as may be required.
- Proficient with MS Office/Google Suite.
- Experience in various social media marketing platforms and techniques.
- Experience and interest in conceptualizing and executing grassroots marketing techniques.
- Experience using retail systems (i.e. labour management, inventory systems, sales reporting, etc.)
- Ability to maneuver the sales floor and back room to provide and support customer service. Reach, bend, to pull products for customers, climb stairs/stepstools to perform visual merchandising and housekeeping duties. Able to lift 10-50 lbs. to process product shipments.
- Takes initiative; has a high level of ownership and accountability for results of self and others.
- Liaise with Directors, Operations Manager, Human Resources etc.
