The Head of Marketing reports to the CEO and will own the brand strategy, voice, and the go-to-market plan for a multi-faceted consumer technology company. You will drive the marketing vision and strategy from inception to execution. This role requires the ability to drive initiatives successfully in an ambiguous and fast-moving environment with minimal established infrastructure, and collaborating and communicating effectively with cross-functional teams supporting the go-to-market effort.
What you will do
- Be the expert on the consumer and the competition to guide product positioning and brand differentiation in a global marketplace
- Create and lead marketing efforts to build customer awareness and adoption across brand, packaging, point-of-sale, digital, offline, influencers, and partnerships
- Collaborate with company stakeholders in customer success, product, and sales to align a common vision in the development of the Motiv brand
- Working with an agency, develop and own the PR strategy, and leverage your media relationships to identify new outreach channels
- Build a marketing department, identify talent needs, hire and manage a high-performing integrated marketing team
- Manage marketing budget, ROI and KPIs and report on the effectiveness of marketing programs; recommend and implement corrective action to improve program performance
What you will bring
- 10+ years working in direct to consumer brands, consumer electronics, or CPG preferred
- Early stage experience: navigating the unknown in a face-paced and effective way; flexibility to go from big picture strategic thinking to rolling up your sleeves and digging into the details to get things done. Experience launching a consumer brand a plus.
- Able to understand program performance and glean insights to drive improvement
- Highly organized, with excellent written and verbal communications skills
- BS / BA degree in Business, Communications, or Marketing
