Manager, Accounting

The Moovweb Experience Delivery Network (XDN) delivers sub-second commerce websites. Our products powers sites visited by 1/3 of Americans each month and is trusted by some of the largest brands in the country, including United Airlines, Harley Davidson, Nordstrom, 1800Flowers, four of the top seven US insurance brands, and a number of the top 50 banks. In the last two years, we’ve expanded our product from a niche mobile web add-on tool to one that is disrupting the multi-billion dollar CDN/Web Performance Optimization and eCommerce Platform markets. The Finance & Accounting Manager will play a key role in supporting Moovweb’s growth in this exciting market.

Position Overview

Reporting to the CEO and Part-Time CFO, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing all the accounting and will be trained on managing the financial planning operations. This is a hands-on position that is best suited for an individual with an accounting background who wants to broaden their experience with a longer-term career goal of becoming a CFO. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the CEO and Part-Time CFO and partner with the rest of the leadership team to help drive key financial initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage all accounting related activities to include but not limited to accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP, month end close, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accounts payable, accruals, revenue, expenses, payroll, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity
  • Prepare period end financial analysis and reporting, including flux, BvA and key business metrics, and identify areas for business and/or financial improvement
  • Partner with leadership team to help drive annual planning process, periodic forecast updates and ad-hoc financial analysis; assist in preparation of board materials
  • Own and manage all systems supporting the accounting and finance activities; oversee operational data to ensure data integrity and accuracy, as well as enhancing speed and reliability of financial reporting
  • Manage the relationship and activities of the independent public accountant, external tax advisor, and other third party advisory firms. Work with external audit and tax specialists on various aspects of year-end audit and tax filing requirements
  • Develop and manage staff, including mentoring and coaching 


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and FASB codification and pronouncements
  • Intellectual curiosity and great work ethic with a get it done attitude
  • Must be a positive, proactive and organized team player with strong communication skills (written, verbal, listening)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy while maintaining the big picture
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize appropriately and handle multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal guidance


Experience & Education

  • BS in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience; combination of Big 4 public accounting (minimum 3 years) and start-up or high-tech experience
  • Systems savvy
