Why Money Dashboard?
We’re building the best personal finance app in the world
We first launched in 2010, with a small team in Edinburgh, passionate about making the often-confusing world of personal finance more open, transparent and accessible for everyone.
Today our mission remains the same: to help people from every walk of life be happier and more successful by mastering their money. We’re on a mission to change millions of lives, and have made a strong start. And the best is yet to come.
Are you passionate about our mission? Do you want to be part of the next big fintech success story?
That’s where the team comes in
We hire the best people and let them get on with it
A strong belief in what we do is what gets us out of bed in the morning. We believe less in job titles and more in organising ourselves with a common goal to get things done.
- We collaborate and seek input from others to do our best work
- We are accountable for our own acts and omissions, celebrate our wins and look for ways to improve our work, our product and ourselves
- We disrupt and we learn fast
- We focus on creating a culture that works for everyone and seek people who will help us challenge our own assumptions
Here’s what our ideal Data Chapter lead looks like:
- You are passionate about data. You have a solid grounding in databases, data modeling best practice, data cleansing, data governance and how to manage data in an environment.
- You are curious about the latest data technologies for data storage, data visualisation and analytics
- You have a good knowledge and grounding in Machine Learning, AI, statistics and can work with in depth technical colleagues who will operate with ML models and related technologies for predictive analytics and classification of our data.
- You can engage with analysts, data scientists and database engineers and will lead the data agenda, the techniques, processes, technology and use of data across Money Dashboard.
- You recognise that data protection and security is the first order of data use in Money Dashboard. You will take ownership of GDPR processes and responses to any issues that arise. You will work with architects and others to ensure that data is stored, secured and accessed in a proper manner, respecting our compliance and regulatory obligations and not least our obligations to our users who entrust us with their data.
- You can talk to the wider business about data and best practice. You will engage with other teams and skill sets to demonstrate how they too can use data to drive results for the business.
- You will standardise the method of delivery for data analysis, ensuring that the analysis is complete, of a high standard, can be repeated and done by analysts other than the original author.
- You are a team player with an enthusiastic, positive can-do attitude with the gravitas to lead, inspire, influence and innovate
- You have a track record of developing and nurturing talent within teams
- You pride yourself on meeting deadlines and expect to work under pressure
- You have strong self-awareness with a high level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
- You’re a self-starter, tenacious and inquisitive – use initiative to identify opportunities and solve problems
- You’re looking for more than just a paycheck. You share our vision of a more open and transparent financial landscape for all
Sound like you? Here’s some of what you’ll be doing:
- You will own the data enrichment squad and determine the direction of travel and methods for improving the underlying categorisation of data and deriving a baseline of information from our data that enables all other areas of the business to excel including analytics teams in our asset management client data delivery and our end consumer experiences based on data.
- Determining the future strategic platform for data in the cloud.
- Defining the tools and skills that analysts employ to use and capitalise on data
- Determine how to improve data skills across the business, helping junior analysts to develop in their career, senior analysts to hone their skills and expand their horizons and improving data literacy across the business.
- Working with database developers, DBAs to understand where data is stored, and how it can be accessed.
- Ensuring appropriate logging and security of data is in place in conjunction with the security team.
- Working within a tribe and squad structure, acting as the “data chapter lead” to oversee data across the company.
- Working closely with colleagues in product development, technical development and sales to ensure that they can use data appropriately and effectively to make this the best FinTech company in UK.
You’ll be in good company
You will be part of an established Data Insights team filled with high achievers. You will have an immediate impact and play a key role in taking Money Dashboard to the next level as you define the data landscape of a company that is data driven.
