Travel Advisor

  • Our client is an elite full-service travel agency providing the highest level of travel experience to their customers by tapping into the best the industry has to offer.  Their clientele are luxury travelers seeking to utilize their points to obtain significant savings.    
     
    They are seeking a Travel Advisor with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the travel and airline industry, and a strong knowledge of international airline routing is required.  Strength in problem-solving based on expertise and experience and a strong commitment to efficiently achieve high-quality results is required.  A thoughtful, persevering, self-disciplined approach to achieving accurate, detailed work is essential.  This position involves customer interaction.  Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. 
     
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Researching award flight availability.
    • Research airline seat maps to identify the best availability of seating to assign.
    • Purchase seats and extra bags.
    • Obtain record locators from partner airlines.
    • Order special meals and services based on client needs.
    • Creating alerts in software to be notified when award seats open.
    • Research connecting terminals.
    • Order global airport assist.
    • Track lost bags.
    • Request compensation from airlines for issues.
    • Check schedule change emails for issues and flight misconnects. 
     
    Qualifications and Skills:
    • At least 3 years' experience in the travel and airline industry
    • College Degree
    • No GDS experience needed but beneficial
    • Creative
    • Accurate
    • Good computer and technology skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Tenacious/Persistent
    • Customer service oriented
    • Confident
    • Problem-solver
    • Self-motivated
    • Someone who can think on their feet
    • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
    • Familiarity with Apple products is a bonus
