Summary and Reporting Structure
Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for ad hoc reporting, detailed review of balances and audits of information contained in financial statements in order to verify that information in the accounting system is complete and accurate. Senior Accountant is also responsible for learning the department’s daily processes, as a back-up servicer, to ensure the delivery of accurate, timely financial information.
Essential Job Functions
- Supports company management with review of information contained in financial statements, providing a narrative of the past and present company performance.
- Conducts audits of the financial statements, reviewing certain categories on the balance sheet and/or income statement to ensure accurate and clean reporting, i.e. rent expense audit.
- Helps ensure employee compliance with all Mint Dentistry and accounting policies and procedures.
- Interfaces with other departments as needed.
- Assists in the review, revision and testing of systems inherent in this position.
- Maintains the ability to operate the latest version of the accounting software.
- Helps maintain an orderly filing system for paper-based and electronic accounting records, including a system of document archiving and destruction.
- Assists Controller, as needed, in compiling accurate financial statements by the 10th of each month.
- Assists Controller in the preparation of company reports, as needed.
- Assists Controller with Internal and External audits, as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 3-5 years experience in Accounting
- Big 4 Experience preferred
- Advanced spreadsheets skills
- Accounting software experience (NetSuite required)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
