Fast paced, friendly, and growing behavioral health outpatient clinic office in Kensington, Maryland is seeking a well-organized, punctual, and dedicated front office admin assistant with great work ethic and a positive attitude. Behavioral Health Clinic Administrative Assistant needed for 3 psychiatric practices located in MD.
The responsibilities include the following:
● Sharing a passion for patient and customer centered care and actively
supporting the delivery of high quality care
● Providing assistance to the providers, practice manager, and front desk
receptionists for both outpatient clinics
● Maintaining a patient/customer focus; ability to de-escalate upset
patients/customers, promote service recovery, and facilitate problem solving.
● Playing a pivotal role for the clinic in meeting or exceeding high patient
satisfaction rates
● Completing additional duties as assigned including but not limited to patient
preparation, interviewing, technical tasks, clerical responsibilities, answering
phone calls, scheduling appointments, checking in patients, patient/family
communication, A/R and billing, insurance verification, and front desk coverage.
● Work with the team to review and prioritize incoming work to support fair
distribution; assist in the clinic in meeting or exceeding financial/operational
targets.
● Support employees who are responsible for insurance verification and intake
process and provide coverage when they are out
● Manage and schedule appointments for two clinics; schedule appointments
that maximize financial potential of clinicians and manage workflow with
impeccable attention to detail and profitability
● Handle complicated outstanding accounts and find resolution
● Coordinate, and assist when necessary, with other team members billing,
payment posting and A/R follow up tasks Job Related Skills and Competencies

● Reliable ability to be on-site M-F, 8 to 5; schedule may need to be adjusted at
times to meet patient scheduling needs.
Education and Work Experience:
● Degree Requirements: High school degree or GED required.
● Work experience in a behavioral health setting strongly preferred.
● 1-2 years of demonstrated, successful customer service or patient care
experience required.
● 1-2 years of related medical office experience preferred. Previous work
experience with insurance verification and intakes for a psychiatry practice
preferred
● Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred, not required.
● Degree in Mental Health related field preferred
● Medical billing experience a plus
● Mental Health outpatient clinic management experience a plus
● Experience working with remote team a plus
● Experience working in mental health and/or supporting individuals with mental
illness.
● Previous experience in financial management or clinic management that
involves budgeting, financial analysis and projection preferred
Travel: This position requires up to 10% travel within the region.
