User Interface Design Intern

Summer 2020 Internship

At MIM Software, our UI/UX team utilizes insights and customer feedback collected by our sales and support staff and collaborates with our engineers to develop software that meets our user’s needs. Our projects range from prototyping potential products to developing software for internal use, to improving the products our customers use every day. Experience an internship with our team. Responsibilities
  • Improve our software’s usability through icon and interface design
  • Build prototypes and mockups for new products and features
  • Help conduct usability tests
  • Assist in the creation of educational materials

Qualifications
  • Must be pursuing a BFA or MFA in an art or design major
  • Strong fundamental art skills in drawing, composition, and use of color
  • Strong layout and typographic skills
  • Familiarity with Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe XD or Sketch
  • Interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Highly motivated and willing to incorporate feedback
  • Experience with user testing, product design, or software/web development are a plus

Portfolio Tips
  • No applicants without a portfolio will be considered
  • An ideal portfolio should include 3-6 of your strongest pieces
  • Including personal work beyond school assignments is strongly recommended
  • Work from collaborative projects should be clearly attributed
  • Applicants with plagiarized portfolio pieces will not be considered
