Job Summary
MicroVentures is looking for a senior full stack developer on our Web Development team. As part of the team, you will contribute to various web applications across a variety of frontend and backend disciplines. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience working as part of a team on medium-to-large scale applications and has proven leadership and mentoring skills for less senior members of the team.
Primary Responsibilities
- Help maintain and extend existing applications written in Laravel (4.1 – 5.*), MySQL, and JavaScript
- Build new features and enhancements to all applications as needed
- Proactively identify coding efficiency opportunities and be able to lead less senior developers on the team
Additional Skills and Experience
- Building web applications using the Laravel framework (4.2 - 5.x)
- Expertise with PHP 5.5 – 7.x
- Experience building PHP-based applications using Composer-based frameworks
- Experience building and interacting with RESTful APIs
- Building responsive web interfaces with a mobile-first mentality
- Implementing user interfaces using next-gen JavaScript tools (React, Vue)
- Managing source code using git or other similar VCS
- Experience or knowledge of how pull requests work in a team environment
- Comfortable on the command line
- Knowledgeable about Composer, npm, and package management procedures
- Comfortable with the concepts and creation of automated tests (TDD, integration testing, etc.)
- Able to build intuitive user interfaces when given design direction
- General knowledge and practical experience with JavaScript (vanilla and jQuery)
- Practical experience with HTML5 and CSS3
- Comfortable using CSS preprocessors (SASS, SCSS, Less)
Required Qualifications
- You must have a desire to relocate or currently live in Austin, TX to be considered for this role
- You must have a strong understanding of financing and accounting
- You must have excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with limited supervision
- Strong writing and grammar skills are a must
