HomeServices of America, a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate, is growing! We are building out a new Technical Support team that will create an incredible experience for our customers. In this role, you'll be an early hire on a new team getting to make a real impact.

You will:
You will enjoy interactions with customers, problem-solving, digging into complex issues, and actively advocating for our customers and team. You will perform triage, root cause analysis, debugging and troubleshooting across Merlin Labs’ products. You will work inside the development team to identify and resolve bugs, test your solutions and release your resolution to production. You will lead and participate in customer-facing interactions helping to communicate progress updates, action plans, and resolution details.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with a cross-functional team to implement new features and enhancements to existing features through a story-driven process.
- Work closely with the Manager of Customer Support to resolve bugs/issues for customers quickly.
- Communicate technical challenges to your team and work through the implications of those challenges.
- Follow the best practices and patterns that your team has put into place.
- Utilize pair programming, when appropriate, to help share your knowledge or gain the knowledge of other engineers.
- Engage in continuous improvement, education, and learning to enhance your skill set and develop.
- Review the code of your teammates to help increase your understanding of the codebase and to engage in knowledge sharing.
Experience
- At least 1 year working as a software engineer.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Experience interfacing with user experience designers and providing technical feedback to influence/inform design.
- Experience in performance optimization strategies.
Education
- At Merlin Labs, we value passion and enthusiasm for code and what we do more so than the educational background of our employees.
- A Bachelors in computer science is a plus.
