As the Development Manager for our Software Solutions team at MercuryGate, you will lead the Product Owner and User Experience teams which define and design mission-critical software within the transportation industry. We are seeking a candidate with a product owner/manager background who has experience defining solutions and requirements processes in a lean/agile environment. A strong candidate would be an individual who leads by example, setting the pace and tone for building a culture of high performing teams and is comfortable with regular collaboration with developers, software architects, product managers and business stakeholders throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
● Develop people and teams through coaching, mentoring, and management support
● Establish and refine processes, practices, and standards relating to requirements, solution definition, backlog management, and prioritization
● Facilitate collaboration across the various software development roles (developer, product owners, tests, and designers) to solve interesting and challenging problems
● Participate in product roadmap and portfolio definition and planning
● Be the champion for better development practices
● Foster the growth and technical expertise of your team around feature definition and design
● Advocate and promote leadership at all levels within the larger development community

● Strong product owner/manager, background, skills and experience with customer facing SaaS products
● Experience with establishing and/or improving the software requirements and solution definition practices and processes for a team or organization

● Dedication to quality and the ability to establish the practices for measuring and maintaining it
● Passionate yet pragmatic about lean/agile practices
● Outstanding communication skills
Experience:
● 10+ years of software development experience
● 5+ years of experience leading teams in the software world using lean/agile practice
Education:
● BS or MS in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Or comparable work experience
