The purpose of this position is to serve, empower and equip Group Life leaders to live out the mission and values for community at Mariners Church.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist in the implementation and on-going creation of Group Life leaders and coaches.
- Conducts trainings and huddles with leaders and coaches.
- Recruit and equip leaders with prayer, building relationships, hosting trainings/meetings, tools and resources.
- Partner with peers in the Men’s and Women’s ministries.
- Oversee the onboarding process for people looking to join a group.
- Partner with the Rooted team in transitioning Rooted Groups to Group Life.
- Meet and greet with church attendees on the weekend patio.
- Work with Coaches/Group Life Leaders to assess and encourage groups towards spiritual maturity.
- Develop measurable strategies that mobilize groups to serve.
- Assist in curriculum content and weekly group discussion questions as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 3-5 years of ministry experience overseeing discipleship groups.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's in Biblical Studies or Theology is a plus.
- Fluent in English and preferably also in one of the following - Chinese, Korean, Spanish.
- Demonstrates strong and growing walk with Christ.
- Demonstrates personal passion for community and groups.
- Experience conducting training, leading, and shepherding life groups.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience recruiting & developing volunteers and leaders.
- Ability to work evenings and weekend hours as needed.
