As a Machine Learning engineer at Manifold you will have the opportunity to work on variety of ML problems, from vision to reinforcement learning, across a variety of industries, from e-commerce to manufacturing. You will also have an opportunity to work with machine learning engineers, data engineers, and software engineers who have deployed cutting edge solutions to production at some of the largest technology companies in the world.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Engage with our customers to understand the challenges they are facing, and work with them to produce a strategy and execution plan for their AI goals
  • Take the lead role on developing solutions. Define work that you and other members of your team will execute on, and be able to break down and organize the work appropriately
  • Iteratively work with our customers and present learnings directly every few weeks 
  • Prototype new algorithms and productionize solutions at scale
  • Collaborate with data engineers on the team and other ML experts in the organization, as well as engineers on our client's teams
  • Work from our Oakland, CA or Boston, MA offices, with opportunities to travel to the other office and to client sites

You are someone who:

  • Embodies data driven development - you look to find ways to analyze everything with data and find ways to improve it
  • Views every problem iteratively while seeing the big picture - you know your end goal and know how to break it down to see success along the way.
  • Gains satisfaction from working directly with our customers and supporting them to be successful in these efforts
  • Wants to be an active part of the machine learning community in Boston or SF (or both!), and is comfortable presenting to groups of your peers
  • Has a positive attitude, even under pressure to deliver 

In your past work, you probably have:

  • Spent at least 5 years in an industry working with large data sets
  • Formulated a hypothesis and produced a plan to execute on the hypothesis using agile software processes, data driven development, and disciplined experimentation
  • Presented your findings clearly to a group of your peers, both inside and outside the company
  • Built machine learning and data analysis engines and brought them to production in a modern object oriented language
  • Managed a team or mentored a group of engineers
