MacKay Sposito is seeking a full time professionally licensed Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineer to serve as a Project Manager in our Transmission and Distribution (T&D) team. As a project manager, you’ll be responsible for assembling and managing teams of various technical disciplines needed for T&D permitting, design, and support during construction. This candidate will have experience with the design of high voltage overhead transmission line projects (69kV to 500kC). As a licensed Engineer, you’ll be responsible for performing transmission line routing and design utilizing Power Line Systems software, providing structural analysis, and preparing project designs, cost estimates, and specifications.

- Understands and resolves engineering problems and adapts approved engineering methods and standards
- Reviews and interprets plans, specifications, or construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.
- Meets deadlines, communicates and works closely in a team environment, and executes complex engineering activities reliably.
- Prepares engineering designs and specifications on assigned portions of a project accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepares cost estimates with quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or time and cost of labor to determine project feasibility or bond quantity amounts.
- Provides analytical assessment of complex engineering data such as, design agreements, design calculations, preliminary specifications, and other technical data.
- Builds and maintains professional co-worker, client, and community relationships.
Qualifications:
- Requires 7+ years of experience in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering or related experience
- PE Licence Required
- Aptitude and demonstrated hands-on experience with Power Line system based programs (i.e., PLS, PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, etc.) required. AutoCad experience a plus.
- Experience in 69kV to 500kV line routing and design required.
- Excellent computer, writing, communication and customer service skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Applicable project experience includes the preparation of land development designs and drafting for site plans, subdivisions, preliminary plats, planning, exhibits, utilities, road plan and profiles, as well as, storm drainage design.
