Manual QA Engineer

We are looking for a talented Manual QA Engineer to ensure podcast listeners get the best experience with Luminary’s applications (iOS, Android and Web), playing a critical role in the evolution and sustainability of Luminary. Luminary team members are working to build a highly innovative platform enabling an efficient and satisfying experience for our users. Specifically, your responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities
  • Write and execute test cases based on product specs and built products across web, iOS and Android
  • Own end-to-end manual testing of product features
  • Support management of external QA vendors (automated testing team, manual testers, and crowdsourced testing vendor)
  • Run manual regression tests of existing product features to minimize risks associated with releasing
  • Work with customer support to investigate trending issues and report on status to stakeholders
  • Identify quality assurance process bottleneck and suggest actions for improvement 
  • Utilize logging and reporting tools (i.e. SumoLogic, New Relic) to understand the impact of issues
  • Identify and report on key KPIs for product quality to Senior Management, Customer Support, and Product

About the Candidate
  • Proven experience in high-traffic user-type app with mobile focus
  • Experience with iOS, Android, and Web testing
  • You care about quality and work well in a fast paced environment with ambiguous direction 
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment - very strong communication skills
  • 2+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer
  • Familiarity with automated testing suites and worked with automated testing engineers
  • 2+ years of experience with software QA tools and processes
  • A sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s success
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Good time-management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skill
