Position Summary
Lucidus is seeking a full time Business Analyst to provide support at one of our client's facility at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in Rockville, Maryland.
The Business Analyst will support multiple projects and all facets of operational support for new and existing NCI’s Grants Management and Business Systems. The candidate’s primary responsibility will be to serve as a liaison between the NCI business stakeholders and the Information Technology team, ensuring technology projects align with the overall strategic objectives of our NCI business partners. The candidate will work closely with the federal leads, business stakeholders, project managers, technical and other cross-contract teams.
Responsibilities:
- Perform requirements gathering through facilitated sessions, document and artifact analysis, models, business process diagrams, use cases, user stories, and workflow diagrams to provide visualization of current and future state.
- Ability to translate business requirements to system requirements in the right level of detail and clearly communicate system impacts, or development needs.
- Identify project risks, perform risk assessments and work with the federal leads and technical team to determine mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Analyze the business requirements and coordinate with the management and technical team to determine the best solution that will fit the existing IT systems infrastructure.
- Ability to manage all projects and provide accurate time estimates for their individual work effort.
- Provide test support and also work with the technical and dedicated QA team members to provide guidance and clarifications regarding requirements.
- Conduct training for end users as new systems and enhancements are migrated to the production environment.
- Provides references for users by working with technical writers to create and maintain user manuals and training materials; provide user support; and help train users.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or four (4) years related experience in lieu of a degree.
- Five (5) years of business analysis and support experience.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, and serve as the sole point of contact for senior members of the business on assigned projects.
- Strong problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and drive change in a collaborative manner.
- Working knowledge of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Knowledge and experience with QA processes and testing methodologies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to mentor and train other business analysts and testers.
- Ability to multi-task and self-prioritize and manage time effectively and efficiently.
- Grants Management experience is a plus.
