As a Database Architect at Logic Supply, you are primarily responsible for the global database administration of our IT systems and serve as the subject matter expert on our Information Technology team. Your focus is on optimizing the existing database systems for performance and reliability. Your database administration experience includes installing, upgrading/patching, tuning/indexing, configuring and managing relational database management systems in large-scale production environment, as well as integration with reporting services. You work proactively across teams, supporting Logic Supply’s agile development process and systems.
This is how you approach your day. You:
- Architect, design, implement, configure, and troubleshoot database instances, replication, backup, partitions, storage and access.
- Monitor and optimize database systems for performance and reliability.
- Provide database performance analysis resulting in specific actionable recommendations.
- Understand requirements, develop, implement and maintain automation scripts in a Linux environment.
- Work closely with development staff on database design change to meet business requirements. Develop solutions where needed and assist developers when appropriate.
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining all production and non-production databases.
- Install new DBMS software, application software, and other software related to DBMS.
- Execute project plans; communicate progress and obstacles effectively to stakeholders.
- Develop reports as well as perform ad hoc data reporting as needed, and maintain user privileges within the database environment.
- Assist in database upgrades, testing backup/restore procedures and disaster recovery plans.
- Maintain documentation related to the database configuration, data flow, replication, data transformation and architecture.
- Maintain user/account/roles/permissions.
- Architect/Implement code migration strategies across environments.

- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, and five (5) years of general technical background working in an Agile environment.
- You have three (3) years professional experience with database monitoring, administration, maintenance and reporting.
- Hands-on PostgreSQL & MySQL administration experience. Non relational database
- Hands-on experience with in-memory data structure store Redis a plus
- Hands-on experience with non-relational databases a plus
- Proven ability within the database performance and query optimization arena.
- A self starter with ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- You have effective communication skills, especially in delivering critical feedback in a constructive way.
- You have a desire to hold yourself and others accountable to high quality standards.
- You can think independently and act proactively.
- You have great attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively.
