Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for invoice production, approval and distribution and additional follow up on collections when needed. Assisting with monthly processes, various daily requests and maintaining accounts payables balances. The Staff Accountant serves as the first point of contact for accounting issues. This position is a part-time, temporary role.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:
- Prepare bi-weekly and monthly project invoices based on contract of either time and materials, fixed bids, or percentage of completion/milestones.
- Manage accounts payable by entering purchase orders, properly coding invoices, obtaining approvals, matching invoices against purchase orders, researching discrepancies, and initiating follow-up with vendors.
- Manage accounts receivable by generating weekly A/R reports, providing support and necessary documentation to account executives and project managers, contacting delinquent customers for payment arrangements, and coordinating collection of delinquent accounts with 3rd party collection company.
- Complete daily reconciliation of bank accounts.
- Reconcile credit card payments.
- Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
Other Responsibilities:
- Utilize Excel and other software technologies to develop reports and format invoice/project data to the specific needs of clients.
- Develop and maintain documentation of the billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
- Provide support to account executives, engagement managers, and project managers.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as needed.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Perform other duties required and assigned.
Education and/or Experience
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or a related field or equivalent experience.
- 1 to 3 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree and/or additional finance certifications.
