Position Summary

About you:
You are someone who gets a rush from technology and design, especially all things digital. You are experienced and in the know about current marketing trends and have polished business development skills. Your social skills are second to none, meaning you can work a room, present in front of people, and articulate your thoughts well, in writing. You’ve successfully translated many business objectives into creative solutions, and you’re comfortable selling such.

Responsibilities

To hunt and build new client relationships by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing new business.
 
You will stay current and knowledgeable about multiple industry verticals, companies, people, publications, announcements, technologies, and competitors, as they may be relevant to Left Field Labs and our core offerings.
 
In addition, you will play a role in promoting Left Field Labs through various communication channels, to warm potential leads, and to develop inbound inquiries.
 
You will need to regularly close new business deals by pitching Left Field Labs’ capabilities, sharing our past work, and presenting great new ideas. This process and goal will include: coordinating with clients to understand requirements, working with internal teams on concepts, strategy, and estimations, developing proposals, negotiating contracts, and integrating contract requirements within business operations. You are the owner of the opportunity and as such, you will be responsible for ensuring Left Field Labs’ response fully addresses client business requirements.
 
Finally, you should enhance the organization’s reputation by being an evangelist and promoting Left Field Labs in the community (giving talks and participating at relevant events).
 
 Qualifications

Ability to forge relationships at every level (background/experience in client services a plus). 
A proven track record of growing new business.
Motivated by sales, prospecting skills, sales planning, deep understanding of customer needs. 
Current market knowledge. 
Storytelling and presentation skills, experience with reading the room and engaging audiences.
Staying current about new communication technologies and social media trends as they relate to marketing.
Ability to strategically develop proposals and shepard the sales process.

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

1- Minimum 3-5 years BD experience.

2- Los Angeles based.

3- Some digital marketing experience/background.

4- Evidence of a relevant rolodex.

5- Experience with longer cycle strategic sales.

6- Proven track record of writing strategic proposals and closing deals/sales.

7- Great oral and written communication skills (writing decks and presenting in front of people).

8- Cultural fit.
