What we want to accomplish and why we’re hiring you
Suki is creating a new category in the health tech space - the digital assistant. We are going to be the voice user interface for healthcare. What does that mean exactly? Currently doctors use their electronic medical record system to track patient encounters (a digital version of the old paper charts you used to see in the doctor’s office and on TV). These systems can be hard to navigate and very time consuming to manage. Time that doctors would rather have to spend with their patients. This is the problem we’re solving right now! Doctors that use Suki spend 50%+ less time on administrative tasks and we’re striving to do even better.
We are a product driven company. Suki has one product running as a single service and we’re focused on making that world class. We’re a cloud native company using the latest and greatest technologies built on top of Google Cloud. Our machine learning team consists of engineers with experience in speech, deep learning, and natural language processing. Our current ML tech stack includes TensorFlow, scikit, Google Datalab, among others.
What will you do everyday?
You will be responsible for designing and building the machine learning infrastructure at Suki including scalable model training, data management, and model serving. As part of that role you will collaborate with other teams such as the data science team and the platform team on a daily basis and aim to integrate best ML practices into Suki’s infrastructure. A particularly interesting – and also challenging – aspect is that at Suki we deal with sensitive data, so data security will surely be among your first thoughts when designing the machine learning infrastructure.
Ok, you're sold, but what are we looking for in the perfect candidate?
- Passion: you’re very excited about designing and building an environment that will be used to solve new and challenging problems with modern machine learning approaches
- Commitment: you care about quality and bad code is like a pea under your mattress
- Adaptability: you thrive in a fast-moving organization that uses light-weight process and cutting-edge technology to have a huge impact
- Empathy: you want to empower others and feel bad when they feel bad
- A mentor: you seek out opportunities for others to grow on the platform you create
- Communication: you want people to use the infrastructure you build and will shout from the rooftops to make it happen all while being there to help

- Ability to prototype and iterate on projects to deliver the best results based on early user feedback
- Experience with GoLang, Python, or related languages
