Lead Product Manager

We're a small mission-driven team here at StackShare that's growing quickly- we recently announced our Series A (https://techcrunch.com/2018/01/09/developer-social-network-stackshare-raises-5-2-million-from-e-ventures/)!

We're building a network for developer knowledge- StackShare is home to over 200K developers, engineers, CTOs, and VPEs from the some of the world best companies including Airbnb, Dropbox, Facebook, and more. Our vision is to transform the way that all SaaS tools and infrastructure are bought and sold by building the world's first technology graph.

We're currently a team of 10- we've worked at places like GitLab, Etsy, Squarespace, StubHub, and Heroku. We're looking for an awesome Lead Product Manager to join us as teammate #11 to help build that future.

This position is based in San Francisco, CA at our new office. Our stack: https://stackshare.io/stackshare/stackshare

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is an exciting time at StackShare. We’re growing the team from 10 to 20 people, beginning to build new products, and growing the StackShare community even more. And that’s where you come in.

As our engineering team grows, your first responsibility will be taking our product from good enough to amazing. We need a detailed-oriented senior product thinker who is excited to own the entire product experience and make it shine. You’ll be empowered to run your own experiments, interview users, launch new features, and drive product strategy—whatever it takes to take the product to the next level.

Here are a few specific things you can expect to do:

Product Strategy - We never plan more than one quarter out so that we stay flexible and open to new opportunities. A big part of your job will be helping us prioritize new product initiatives- that means saying "no" to a lot of things, and "yes" to just a few. Your primary goal will be to help strategize for how to further build out the technology graph (https://cl.ly/2B3F0z3P2D18).

Drive the next iteration of our News product - We launched Stack News last year (https://stackshare.io/news). There’s a huge opportunity to create a new destination for developers to stay on top of the technologies they care about. We have the data and the users to make this the best technical news and discussion experience on the web.

Data driven optimization - We have an aggressive short-term product roadmap and you’re going to make sure every one of those features is as successful as possible. You’ll use Google Analytics, Amplitude, and other tools via Segment to optimize conversion funnels for our most popular pages and create new experiences that drive signup and engagement.

User Engagement Management - We have great organic engagement with many of our features. Now we just need to educate more people to drive further engagement. You’ll design, create, send, and test email campaigns that go out to our current community as well as drip campaigns that go out to potential new StackShare users. With your help, our entire community will know about all the awesome features we have to offer.

Our ideal candidate has the following background:

- 5+ years of experience in a product management role at a consumer (B2C) startup
- 1+ years of experience at a startup
- Experience with most of the following: Google Analytics, Amplitude, SendGrid, Sendwithus, Segment
- Bonus points: Rails, Ruby, PostgreSQL, SQL
